I Write About It

I don't think this needs an introduction.

Pen slides across my world,
Ink escaping from constraints.
Black and white, yet it holds
Colors from a thousand paints.

Time shifts forward, onward,
Words suffocate the page.
Thoughts and dreams have escaped:
Have fled from a silent cage.

My heart is on the paper,
My soul is outlined.
A million hopeful possibilities,
Are written between blue lines.

I hug the notebook to me,
Hug my heart, hug my life.
My way to slowly fight against,
Anger, hate, death, and strife.

A single dream can change the world-
A life can be a shining light.
By your actions show them truth:
Simple words can hold might.
